I have decided to dedicate this very first entry to speak a bit about the theme of "Chloser than Ever", my blog about functional yet aesthetic design. In my spare time, which is at a premium nowadays being the new mom of a 7 month old darling baby girl, I like to peruse through blogs about anything and everything design related. **Mental Note: I shall try to link a few of my favorites once I get this blog a bit more in order.** The unfortunate part has always been the lack of mentioning of designers in the foreign regions, especially those of the Pacific-Asian countries. That sort of inspired to start this blog which will serve as an entry way of introducing the functional and eye pleasing designs of that particular region to the readers here in the US. To really show that good design is indeed within reach and closer than ever (thus the name of the blog "Chloser than Ever" - Chloser is a play off my daughter's name, Chloe).SO, having said all that, I have discovered one clever graphic/industrial designer by the name of Mac Funamizu, hail from Tokyo Japan. Check out the website if you will. The sleek and uber chic designs seemingly inspired by iPod's simple lines have an extreme calming effect for the busy bees of our generation. Browsing through the website feels like having a cyber SPA treatment where I can sit back, relax, and just look at these beautiful yet super functional product images for as long as I please. Mac admittedly mentioned that while these designs might not have been tested by tech savvy folks and that they are simply as what they appear to be, just design ideas, they sure look good enough to be manufactured and introduced to the masses. Have a look, this is not so shabby for my very first attempt at posting, right? More to update in the coming days.
